It is becoming more and more evident that we are entering a landscape we cannot being to conceive. The pace of change, the amount of disruption and the reach of technology is unprecedented.

Our structured processes and methodologies are just not going to hold water in this new environment. We can no longer talk about or implement change management strategies. How can you “manage” change at this scale?

We need to instead seek change, create change and initiate change. Now is the time to seize the opportunity with so much in flux to make changes and be change agents.

For example, in many businesses HR, IT/Digital and Research & Development remain siloed. But the impact of technology will affect everyone. The need for people to learn and adapt quickly is essential. The requirement to be creative and cutting edge is mounting.

We can no longer afford units and people to be isolated from each other. Diverse group thinking, open and direct conversations, freedom to try, fail and try again is how to combine our collective intelligence. Then we are not just navigating the changes ahead, but creating the very changes we want to see.
